Lions Mane Grow Kit Instructions
No Humidity Tent Required on East Side of Island or Humid Areas
Note: If you're located in an area with lots of humidity, you do not need a humidity tent.
Simply place your mushroom kit in a cool, dark, and draft-free area- such as a kitchen or garage.
To encourage a humid microclimate, place a tray or plate with approximately ½ inch of standing water near the kit. This will help maintain the necessary moisture around the block.
Before You Begin
Wait until the block is fully colonized before cutting.
Lion's Mane mycelium can be faint.
Monitor the block carefully. When the mycelium has visibly spread to cover the entire substrate, it's time to proceed.
Colonization may take several weeks depending on temperature and humidity. Be patient and observe daily.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut Open the Grow Bag
• Using a clean, sharp knife or scissors, cut along the pre-drawn line on the grow bag.
2. Remove Excess Air
• Gently squeeze out all air from the grow bag.
3. Tape the Bag
Secure the bag by taping it down so that no air remains inside.
Note: If air is left inside, mushrooms may start growing within the bag instead of outside.
4. (If Using) Prepare the Humidity Tent
Roll up the base of the humidity tent once or twice for added stability.
Position the kit with the cut/slash facing upwards, and place the humidity tent over it.
5. Mist Daily
• Remove the humidity tent and mist the inside with clean water from a spray bottle
2-3 times per day.
6. Avoid Direct Spraying
Do not spray the mushrooms directly, especially once they begin to emerge.
You should see condensation inside the tent at all times to maintain adequate humidity.
7. Harvesting Time
• When the spines (icicle-like growths) reach about 2 cm in length, your Lion's Mane is ready to harvest!
8. After Harvest
Remove all mushroom flesh from the block.
Resume misting the inside of the tent.
A second flush should occur within 1-2 weeks.
